CeVIO AI (チェビオエーアイ, pronounced che-ˈvē-ˈo) is the next generation of the CeVIO Creative Studio vocal synthesizer product developed in collaboration with Techno-Speech, Inc. capable of both speech and singing synthesis.
Overview[]
CeVIO AI was announced via Twitter on June 11, 2020[2] and is a continuation of the AI, incorporation for CeVIO first announced December 2018 by Techno-Speech, Inc. and Nagoya Institute of Technology.[3] CeVIO AI utilizes DNN speech synthesis by deep learning and recurrent neural network (RNN) to produce a more natural singing and speaking voice. [4]
Like it's predecessor, CeVIO AI will have a Song Editor and a Talk Editor, sold separately. CeVIO AI is noted to be different from CeVIO Creative Studio and that voicebanks from the previous versions are not compatible with the new software, however, support is being considered for future updates.[5]
With the announcement of Flower and Yuzuki Yukari's migration to CeVIO AI, Techno-Speech, Inc. noted that rather than viewing the move as an "evolution" from existing vocals, this should be viewed as an "expansion of possibilities" for voice synthesizer users.[6]

- On December 14, 2018 samples using AI incorporation were uploaded to Techno-Speech, Inc.[7]
- IA TALK, ONE TALK, flower, and Yuzuki Yukari announced to migrate to CeVIO AI on July 22, 2020[8]
- Demo and announcement of KAFU uploaded on October 10, 2020 [9]
- Announcement of Tohoku Kiritan uploaded on October 21, 2020 [10]
- CeVIO AI was formally announced via Twitter on October 29, 2020
- Koharu Rikka was announced for CeVIO AI and Talk Editor demos uploaded to AH-Software Co. Ltd.'s YouTube channel on October 30, 2020 [11][12]
- Logos for CevIO AI's package unveiled on November 5, 2020[13]

2021
- On January 27, 2021 CeVIO AI Song Editor / Talk Editor version 8.0.9.0. was released for download.
- On February 1, CeVIO AI version 8.0.10.0 was released, fixing several errors in the previous version.
- On February 3, CeVIO AI version 8.0.11.0 was released.
- On February 9, CeVIO AI version 8.0.13.0 was released.
- On March 8, CeVIO AI version 8.0.9.0 was officially suspended.
- On March 11, CeVIO AI version version 8.0.18.0 was released. Support was added for "CeVIO AI IA TALK" and "CeVIO AI ONE TALK".[16]
- The day after, version 8.0.19.0 was released. Version 8.0.20.0 would be released a few hours later to add support for Koharu Rikka's Talk Voice. Both of these versions fixed critical bugs with song playing.
- On March 16, CeVIO AI version 8.0.21.0 was released.
- On April 1, CeVIO AI version 8.0.23.0 was released.
- On July 15, CeVIO AI version 8.1.8.0 was released.
- On August 18, CeVIO AI version 8.1.12.0 was released.
- On August 27, CeVIO AI version 8.1.14.0 was released. Included talk voice improvements for IA TALK and ONE TALK.

2023
- On February 14, 2023, CeVIO AI version 8.4.5.0 was released.[17]
- On April 24, CeVIO AI version 8.5.0.0 was announced to be in development;[18] it was finally released on May 1.[19] A few hours later, version 8.5.2.0 was released to fix a bug on the Song Editor.[20]
- On May 17, CeVIO AI version 8.5.4.0 was released.[21]
- On July 4, CeVIO AI version 8.6.1.0 was released.[22]
- On July 12, CeVIO AI version 8.6.3.0 was released; it fixed a bug on the Song Editor.[23] However, it created a new bug on the Talk Editor, prompting CeVIO Project to ask users to not update the Talk Editor until a bug fix was issued.[24]
- On July 21, CeVIO AI version 8.6.5.0 was released.[25]
- On July 31, CeVIO AI version 8.6.6.0 was released; it also fixed another bug on the Song Editor.[26]
- On August 22, CeVIO AI version 8.6.7.0 was released.[27]
- On December 1, CeVIO AI version 8.7.0.0 was announced;[28] it was released on December 5.
- On December 7, CeVIO AI version 8.7.1.0 was released, after reports that the previous version was crashing under certain conditions while creating the audio spectrum.[29]
- On December 12, CeVIO AI version 8.7.2.0 was released.[30]
- On December 25, CeVIO AI beta version 9.0.1.0 was released in advance, fixing song-related bugs and improving the timing adjustment.[31]
2024
- On January 9, 2024, CeVIO AI version 9.0.1.0 (shortened to 9.0) was officially released.[32] Among other things, it added support for the 2.0 vocoder (first introduced on VoiSona Song and VoiSona Talk) to be used by Song Voice and Talk Voice libraries (after applying their respective 2.0 updates).
- On January 16, CeVIO AI version 9.0.2.0 was released to fix a bug that sometimes caused inoperability in the Song Editor along with improvements to both Song and Talk Editors.[33]
- On February 14, CeVIO AI version 9.1.1.0 was released, bringing with it an improved Husky setting for Song & minor improvements for Talk; it also added support for UNI Talk Voice.[34]
- On February 22, CeVIO AI version 9.1.2.0 was released, adding support for Suzuki Tsudumi and #kzn's 2.0 vocoder updates.[35]
- On February 29, CeVIO AI beta version 9.1.4.0 was released in advance, fixing a bug related to Husky setting and switching its adjustment range according to the Song Voice library version (±1.0 for versions 1.0, versus ±20.0 for versions 2.0).[36]
- On March 7, CeVIO AI version 9.1.5.0 was released, bringing in the same Husky bug fixes as the 9.1.4.0 beta.[37]
- On March 14, CeVIO AI version 9.1.6.0 was released to fix a bug in Song Editor where an error sometimes occurred when pasting after copying a group selection; also, support for Futaba Minato's Song Voice 2.0.0 was added.[38]
- On May 9, CeVIO AI beta version 9.1.8.0 was released in advance, implementing various improvements like an auxiliary button for the Song Editor, parallel movement of timing-selection range, and for the Talk Editor an accent-free button.[39]
- On May 16, CeVIO AI version 9.1.9.0 was released to officially implement the improvements first introduced in the beta 9.1.8.0 version.[40]
- On May 31, CeVIO AI version 9.1.10.0 was released, eliminating the wait time for playback while recalculating parameters in Song Editor, speeding up loading of projects containing freeze tracks, etc.[41]
- On June 7, CeVIO AI version 9.1.11.0 was released with some minor modifications like improving the Delete Special Symbols function in Song Editor to delete half- and full-width symbol characters regardless of the lyrics' Japanese/English language setting.[42]
- On June 20, CeVIO AI version 9.1.13.0 was released to add support for the 2.0 vocoder on all AH-Software Co. Ltd. voices (except Hanakuma Chifuyu) in addition to improving the Song Editor.[43]
- On June 21, CeVIO AI version 9.1.14.0 was released to fix a bug that caused an error to occur when playing a song without selecting a song track or when changing the singer of an unselected song track.[44]

Marketing[]
A preferential price for owners of CeVIO Creative Studio is being considered for upgrading, however it was noted there will be no free upgrades due to the time it has taken for development. Users have the options of purchasing CeVIO AI as a set of Talk Voice and Talk Editor, a set of Song Voice and Song Editor, or the Song Voice, Talk Voice and respective Editors separately.[45]

Known Problems[]
- Version 8.0.9.0
- Techno-Speech has noted that the timing may be incorrect when a saved project is reopened after adjusting the Timing (TMG) parameter. This issue will be fixed in a future update. Techno-Speech recommends not using timing adjustment parameter until this feature is fixed.[46]
- In another tweet, Techno-Speech noted that there was another error which in rare cases, if the magnification is any value other than "100%" in the Windows display settings, the Please Wait screen does not appear and the system cannot be started. It was noted a fix was in the works for these bugs.[47]
- Version 8.0.11.0
- On February 3rd, 2021 Techno-Speech noted that many users have reported errors regarding playback with CeVIO AI and is currently undergoing investigation. Techno-Speech has recommended viewing the CeVIO AI User's Guide page for bug information and troubleshooting.[48]
