History[]
2020[]
On July 22, 2020, it was announced that a Song Voice for flower would be developed alongside updates for IA TALK, ONE TALK, and a Song Voice for Yuzuki Yukari. The voice would be in collaboration with Techno-Speech, Inc.[1][2][3] and it was noted that the goal was to open up further possibilities for flower. Gynoid later tweeted on July 24 that there would be more things to talk about regarding flower's conversion to CeVIO,[4] and while recording hadn't started yet, noted that no matter what users made, it would still be flower.[5] They planned to make her an interesting product to use.[6]
2022[]
On February 8, 2022, in response to a fan-inquiry on their website, Gynoid Co., Ltd. stated that the CeVIO AI flower project was not cancelled and that they were working hard to make CeVIO flower.[7] An official announcement was expected to be made on the official Twitter account.[8] Through a follow up inquiry on February 21, 2022, it was relayed by Gynoid Co., Ltd. that their former development department was currently withdrawing, with a new development team who would be handling flower replacing them. They stated that resuming production was now possible and asking again for patience.[9] Screenshots of the conversation were provided in a now-deleted tweet.[10]
On April 14, it was announced by The VOCALOID Collection that "Ci flower" for CeVIO AI would be seeing a Spring 2022 release, with the most information flower's project had seen publicly revealed in over two years.[11]
On April 29, flower's CeVIO AI illustration was revealed at the 2022 Nico Nico Chokaigi "Super Painter Exhibition". Her illustrator was revealed to be Oguchi.[12][13] A press release from Gynoid Co., Ltd. on the same day revealed that a new company INCS Toenter Co., Ltd. was decided to handle the release of flower between Autumn to Winter of 2022. She was announced to have three purchase options available including:
- Starter Pack Package Version (CeVIO AI Song Editor + Song Voice)
- Starter Pack Download Version (CeVIO AI Song Editor + Song Voice)
- Voice Pack Download Version (Song Voice only)[14]
On July 16, the official Ci flower Twitter released a statement announcing a change from the original Autumn to Winter 2022 release date, to the New Year of 2023. An apology was issued and it was stated that further efforts would be made toward the new release date with an appreciation message of continued support. It was also stated that new information would be provided in a follow-up report.[15] An official website was launched for Ci flower on the same day.[16]
2023[]
On February 24, 2023, an article on the Japanese blog website plug+ containing the interview with the producer Hanyuu Maigo and featuring a demo with Ci flower was published. The release dates were revealed to be on March 10, 2023 for the download version and March 31, 2023 for the packaged version, with pre-orders stated to be starting from February 25, 2023 at noon JST.[17][18] The official Twitter account also published a hint towards the pre-order date.[19]
Additional demonstration videos were posted to the official Ci flower YouTube channel the following day along with "HOW TO" instructions for using her software. It was also announced that flower would be available on the official INCS Toenter Co., Ltd. online store where pre-order reservations were officially opened.[20][21] Users who pre-ordered Ci flower through the INCS Toenter Co., Ltd. online store were eligible to download a free desktop wallpaper featuring Ci flower.[22] Other purchase locations were also revealed.[23][24] Users who pre-ordered the packaged version, including the installation disc and three-sided box, were also eligible to receive a Ci flower-themed acrylic stand as a pre-order bonus.[25] A statement was released regarding the delay of the release of Ci flower as well as addressing concerns regarding opinions of the product. It was noted that Ci flower captures the theme of "if", being a new generation of flower that inherits traits from the previous incarnations of flower and bringing new possibilities as well as encouraging new and existing users to experience the charm of Ci flower.[26]
2024: 2.0 vocoder update[]
On March 10, 2024, Ci flower received a 2.0 update to her CeVIO AI Song Voice as well as a VoiSona Song voicebank.[27] The 2.0 update was noted to have a clearer sound compared to iterations of her 1.0 Song Voice.

While inheriting the rock-focused aspects of the previous flower, CeVIO AI technology has "given birth to a new world of flower."[29] Like her predecessor, Ci flower carries a deep androgynous voice that, as expected of a CeVIO AI vocal, is intended to sound realistic in terms of voice quality, habits, and singing style. |
