History[]
FEE was announced through a PR TIMES press release to be in development for a CeVIO AI Talk Voice library.[1] She was announced to be receiving a digital download with various options for purchasing, including standard and Limited Edition versions. U-Stella Inc. also planned to release a voice material collection, "FEE-chan SP VOICE", alongside the Limited Edition packages. Package contents and pricing were also announced including:

Following the announcement of FEE's library, U-Stella Inc. received backlash over FEE's portrayal due to her age being reminiscent of a 17 year old and how overtly sexualized she was being portrayed as. Shortly after, FEE's age was changed to 18. An exact reason for this change was not given.[2]
FEE was noted to have a cute and gentle voice and would have four types of emotional speech synthesis parameters.
On October 29, FEE was announced to be releasing on November 26, with a pre-order reservation period beginning on November 12.[3] She was released on November 26 as intended.
On January 25, 2022, two polls were released on the official FEE-chan Twitter account inquiring users about their potential interest in a Song Voice for FEE as well as a packaged version of her Talk Voice.[4][5] The polls concluded with 60.7% of votes stating they would be interested in purchasing FEE's Song Voice at a later date and 78.9% of the votes stating they would like to see a packaged version of FEE's Talk Voice.
Sample package versions of FEE's CeVIO AI Talk Voice were on display at the CeVIO FeSTA 7 event.[6] The packaged editions of FEE's Talk Voice and Talk Starter Pack as well as a special "First-Run Only" edition were later released for pre-order purchase on December 9 with general purchase available on December 23, through Amazon and other retailers.[7][8] Chairman of U-Stella Inc. Shiratori Koyomi noted that the physical package versions of FEE were among one of the many major reasons why the company has begun to collapse, noting that this was a very "deficit" product that is very particular about both the exterior and the interior, that ignores the company's budget and income.[9] The physical packaged versions were created as a form of fan service from himself, and he stated that there would be no plans to resell the First-Run Only editions, and recommended interested buyers not to miss out on buying the product for teaching, preservation, and viewing.[10]
On June 20, 2023, U-Stella Inc. announced a crowdfunding campaign with the goal of developing a CeVIO AI Talk Voice for FEE's older sister and fellow "Caricature" (カリカチュア) android UNI, also known as UNI-chan (ユニちゃん). The official FEE-chan Twitter account quote retweeted the announcement seeming to imply that UNI's Song Voice was being developed in lieu of her own Song Voice.[11]
