Futaba Minato (双葉 湊音, ふたば みなと) is a Japanese Song Voice developed and distributed by Gasoline Alley Inc., and was released for CeVIO AI in December 2022.[1] She was also released as a Song Voice for VoiSona in August 2023.[2]
On September 29, 2023, she was announced to receive Talk Voice libraries to be released for CeVIO AI and VoiSona Talk, to be developed through a crowdfunding campaign.[3][4] An official derivative, Futaba Kominato, who is a character based on the childhood image of Minato, is expected to release for CeVIO AI and VoiSona in 2025.
She is voiced by Sachika Misawa, a Japanese voice actress and singer.[5]
Concept[]
Futaba Minato is advertised as a speech synthesis character project that started from a clean place with a completely new character. Minato is described to be the first CeVIO AI youth (青春系, seishun-kei) Song Voice. She is 15 years old and her birthplace was noted to be "places with abundant nature" (自然の多いところ). Her birthday is February 2.[6] Minato's voice is described to have a new sound with a straight core and a clear blue voice.[7] Voice recordings included in the *"Futaba Minato Sampling Voice (Provisional)" (双葉湊音サンプリングボイス（仮）)"* pack suggest she enjoys spicy foods and her favorite animal is a black cat to which she has pictured on her smart watch.[8] Gasoline Alley Inc. would not disclose any "too detailed" profile details wishing for users to think freely. Other hints would also be included in the Sampling Voice pack.[9]
Etymology[]
The kanji for her last name Futaba (双葉) has two interpretations meaning seed leaves, or the very beginning. Her first name, Minato (湊) also carries two interpretations signifying harbor, or a place of gathering. Oto (音) denotes sound.
Appearance[]
Futaba Minato has azure eyes and long dark blue hair with a lighter blue interior. In Minato's hair are two gold barrettes: one with a blue flower jewel and the other with a leaf pattern. The combination changes depending on Minato's mood of the day.[10] Minato wears a white, sleeveless, loose-fitting, button-up collared dress over a ruffled white skirt. Tied around the collar of her dress is a blue ribbon with a blue gemstone brooch. According to concept artwork, Minato wears light blue tennis shoes with white soles and blue laces tied into a bow.[11]
The only differences between Futaba Minato’s Talk design and Song design is the sky blue wrap with scalloped hems, and the white hat with blue ribbon and silver cat pin featured in her Software art.

An official website and Twitter account were created for Futaba Minato.[12]
On October 22, 2022, Minato's official Twitter announced that she would participating in two upcoming events[13]:
- October 30, 2022 M3 Autumn 2022 (M3 2022秋) in Tokyo, Japan
- November 20, 2022 Vocal Party (声音の宴) in Kyoto, Japan
On October 30, there was an official Futaba Minato booth during the M3 Autumn 2022 (M3 2022秋) album release fair. Various merchandise featuring Minato was released for purchase during the event such as clear file folders and official Minato-themed acrylic keychains.[14][15]
In response to a fan's email on November 26, 2022, Gasoline Alley Inc. noted that the company was interested in producing content such as official MikuMikuDance models, additional characters, (friends, sisters etc.) but did not have the financial resources at the time to do so, wishing to develop these "little by little". When asked if they would produce a printable cover art for Futaba Minato's software, Gasoline Alley Inc. replied that they had not thought about printing any kind of cover artwork and would discuss with their illustrators and designers.[8]
An official 3D model was created for MikuMikuDance by Quappa-El and was released on the official Futaba Minato website on July 14, 2023.[16]
