Jasper (ジャスパー), also known as Shiraki Jasper (白岬ジャスパー), is a Japanese Song Voice developed and distributed by GEMVOX, a sub-division of Studio ENTRE Inc.. He was released for VoiSona in December 2024.
His voice is provided by the Japanese singer and songwriter Taichiro Mitsunaga (光永泰一朗).
Concept[]
During a live talk held at Tokyo Musical Instruments Expo 2024 at the Science Museum on November 3, 2024, GONZO K.K. president Shinichiro Ishikawa conceptualized Jasper as "usually a gloomy character. But when he takes off his mask, he turns into a really weird guy."[1]
Upon release on December 11, his full profile was revealed. There, Jasper is described as being constantly in a gloomy mood, listless and indifferent. He gives the impression of being distant and cold towards those around him, but inside he is engulfed in a whirlpool of complex and unstable emotions. His mental state is like a physical matter going through phase transformations, moving endlessly between four different "states":
- Solidified – A state of unyielding numbness, where emotions freeze into an impenetrable wall.
- Oscillating – A restless, volatile rhythm, his mood swinging between extremes with relentless intensity.
- Pulsating – A raw, throbbing energy surges through him, emotions spilling over with chaotic urgency.
- Awakened – A rare clarity emerges, his inner turmoil igniting into focused determination and sharp insight.
Each state brings about dramatic changes in his emotions and behavior, leading him in unpredictable directions. This intricate dance of inner chaos and fleeting lucidity defines who he is: a paradox wrapped in an enigmatic, fragile existence.[2]
Etymology[]
"Shiraki" (白岬) can mean "white cape" or "white headland", with (白), meaning white, being a reference to his hair's color in his Awakened state. As with all GEMVOX vocals, his name is based upon that of a gemstone, his being "Jasper", written in katakana as "ジャスパー". His name is written in Japanese styling, similar to vocalists like Kagamine Len (鏡音レン).
