History[]
2022[]
Through a DTM STATION article on June 2, 2022, Techno-Speech, Inc. representative, Tsukada Keisuke, announced that that the company planned to develop genuine VoiSona voice libraries that were not cross-platform from CeVIO characters and voices. At the time, it was decided that the first was created to be a completely new male CV voice library. Further details were not given.[1] On September 1, Techno-Speech, Inc. announced this vocal was based on the voice of Sho Kiryuin (鬼龍院翔) from the Japanese visual kei rock band Golden Bomber (ゴールデンボンバー). The name "Kirune" was officially filed for trademark by Techno-Speech, Inc. on September 28, though, at the time, unbeknownst to be the character's name.[2] Two silhouettes featuring two new upcoming VoiSona vocalists were released on November 24 with information to be revealed in the following week.[3] Kirune was officially revealed on December 2 to be the final name of the product and he was scheduled to release simultaneously with AiSuu, a female VoiSona library, on December 19.[4] Kirune was planned to be released as one of Techno-Speech, Inc.'s first subscription-based vocalists priced at an annual plan of ¥6600 yen for one-year license (¥6000 yen excluding tax) or ¥880 yen as a monthly license (¥800 yen excluding tax). His first official demo, a cover of Golden Bomber's original song Memeshikute, was released on the same day.[5]
On December 13, the official VoiSona Twitter account announced that Sho Kiryuin and Sumire Yoshida were invited to a special post-release DTM Station Plus! {DTMステーションPlus!) broadcast to be held on December 20, where information would be presented regarding VoiSona, Kirune, and AiSuu.[6][7] In addition, three official demonstration songs were announced to be in production for the two vocals respectively and would be released throughout the week up to the official release date on December 19.[8] Kirune was announced to be receiving one solo demonstration song, カイロスの騎士 (Kairos no Kishi) by HitoshizukuP and one duet song, 子供部屋のエチュード (Kodomobeya no Echuudo) featuring both vocalists by OSTER Project.[9][10]
Free trial editions of Kirune and AiSuu were announced to be released during the "Kirune & AiSuu Release Commemorative "Free Trial Campaign"" (機流音&AiSuuリリース記念「無料お試しキャンペーン」). Registered applicants who applied through the official VoiSona website between December 19 at noon through December 22 (23:59 JST) would be eligible to use both voice libraries for free for one month after the application. To be eligible for the trial edition, applicants must access the "Apply for Annual Plan" or "Apply for Monthly Plan" buttons at the bottom of each respective vocalists' product page and register their credit card information. Applicants could purchase a subscription plan for 0 yen for 1 month. By default, it was noted that after the one-month free period ends, users would be automatically transferred to the first selected subscription plan (either yearly or monthly). If users did not wish to continue the paid subscription after the free period ends, users were directed to access the campaign page during the free period and press the "Cancel Reservation" button. After the free period ends, the automatic renewal process would be turned off.[11]
Kirune was released on December 19 as intended.
