Koharu Rikka

Koharu Rikka (小春六花) is a Japanese Talk Voice developed by TOKYO6 ENTERTAINMENT in collaboration with AH-Software Co. Ltd., and was released for CeVIO AI in March 2021. She was originally conceptualized to be a VOICEROID2 product until TOKYO6 decided to cancel its development in favor of CeVIO AI for speech.^[1] At the same time as her CeVIO AI release, she was also made available on Synthesizer V Studio as Standard and AI singing voice databases.^[2]^[3]^[4] She later received a text-to-speech voicebank for VOICEPEAK in July 2023 and is now expected to receive a Talk Voice library for VoiSona Talk announced to be released in June 2024.^[5]

Her voice provider is Yoshino Aoyama (青山吉能; Aoyama Yoshino).

Concept[]

Koharu Rikka is described to be a high school sophomore. She's 160 cm tall and has a teddy bear companion named LAKISTON. The rest of her character is deliberately left open to interpretation.^[6]

Her birthday is May 16, the same day she was announced.

Etymology[]

Koharu (小春) is derived from the word "koharubiyori" (小春日和), which literally translates to "little spring weather," but is more commonly referred to as an "Indian summer." Akasako, the CEO of TOKYO6, mentioned in AHS' 156th livestream that he chose this name for her because he wanted fans to be reminded of a soothing and relaxing spring day.^[7]

Rikka (六花) can be translated literally as "six flowers," but it also references snow. As the snow pseudonym is widely used in poetry written during the Song Dynasty, it's hoped that her name will help her appeal more to fans in China.^[8]

Rikka is a high school sophomore with short silver hair. While her hair is pulled up into two small buns on either side of her head, the rest of her hair is not. She also has a small flower clip on the left side of her bangs. Her eye color is a soft blend of purple and red.

She wears a standard school uniform - a grey top with a pink bow, and a dark blue/white accented long sleeved jacket over it. She also wears a short, dark blue, pleated skirt, white knee-high socks and pink/white shoes with a lavender bow on top of each.

LAKISTON reference

LAKISTON (ラキストン Rakisuton), her companion, is a stuffed bear with small black horns and black claws. It wears a green/white/blue bow and has small angel wings on its back.

Koharu Rikka had a crowdfunding campaign, which began on May 28, 2020, with a goal of 7 million yen for her VOICEROID product and 400 exVOICE samples. All stretch goal rewards involved additional emotional parameters (one new emotion for each stretch goal reached) and additional exVOICE recordings, including a set recorded with a binaural microphone for an ASMR effect. The crowdfunding campaign reached that goal approximately 15 minutes after it went live.^[9] In response to all of her stretch goals being reached in record time, TOKYO6 tweeted that they would consider additional stretch goals.^[10] The first confirmed additional stretch goal was a 3D model of Rikka that would be included with her VOICEROID software if the campaign reached 19 million yen.^[11] This additional stretch goal was reached within the first 24 hours of the campaign being live as well. The final stretch goal for the campaign was 25 million yen, which would give Rikka the funds to receive a singing synthesizer bank (later revealed to be for Synthesizer V) if reached.^[12]

She is planned to have live music performances, collaborations with other companies, and more.^[13]

As of March 29, 2022, works featuring Rikka were accepted on Piapro, a well-known Japanese center of the VOCALOID, and extensively, voice synthesizer community.^[14]

Rikka's first performance, "Koharu Rikka 1st LIVE!" would be held on April 22, 2022 at Harevutai in Ikebukuro.^[15] Official standing pictures for Rikka were released on March 16, 2022.^[16]
