Lunon (月音) is a Japanese Song Voice developed by Techno-Speech, Inc. based on the singer and Utaite, Tsukino. She was released for VoiSona in December 2024.

Her voice is provided by the Japanese singer and Utaite, Tsukino.

Concept[]

Lunon is conceptualized as an android equipped with the singing AI of Tsukino. The character design expresses the two distinct vocal styles, "Sweet" and "Cool," through the colors pink and blue, respectively.[1]

Lunon's conception comes from Tsukino's love of "singing androids", most notably that of VOCALOID characters such as Hatsune Miku and spans from a long-held dream of hers. Lunon was named with the hope that the moon "would always be lovely and shine brightly forever."[2][3]

Etymology[]

"Lunon" is a portmanteau of the Latin word lunae ("moon") and the Japanese word on (音, "sound"). The kanji spelling "月音" is composed of "月" (the Japanese word for "moon") and "音" (already described above).

Trivia[]

  • At some point during development, Lunon was conceptually known as TUKiNON, a notable reference to her voice provider and illustrator's name Tsukino, which was written on an early sample of her License Card that was announced to be distributed to pre-orders of her Special Package Edition.[4] This was later corrected to Lunon in the final product.[5]
