2020[]
Tanaka San was introduced as the mascot character of Techno-Speech, Inc. on July 20, 2020, initially debuting as a simple bust without a name. Her debut design, illustrated by cherico, was used for promotional work for Techno-Speech, Inc. such as the profile picture for the official Twitter account and an official Techno-Speech, Inc. branded clear file that was handed out during official events.[1][2][3]
2023[]
On August 26, 2023, in celebration of VoiSona's first anniversary on September 1, Techno-Speech, Inc. announced a new upcoming Talk Voice vocal for their newly unveiled text-to-speech software addition to the the VoiSona brand, VoiSona Talk. The vocal was not yet named, being referred to as "***" at the time, and was previewed with a black silhouette. Alongside the announcement was the simultaneous announcement of VoiSona Talk libraries to be developed for the CeVIO AI vocalists Sato Sasara, Suzuki Tsudumi and Takahashi Amato.[4] Further details were released three days later on August 29, and the silhouetted vocalist was revealed to be the mascot of Techno-Speech, Inc., now known as Tanaka San. She was provided a profile, character settings and her full illustration was revealed, confirmed to be also illustrated by cherico. Tanaka San was introduced as a 26-year-old, ever-smiling public relations (PR) representative from Nagoya, Japan who works for a speech synthesis software company. It was noted that at work, she exemplifies a serious and sensible member of society.[5]
The following day on August 30, Tanaka San received an alternative promotional design illustration, advertised as a "plain clothes" version (私服ver.).[6] Additional reference images featuring both of Tanaka San's designs were also released and could be downloaded from the official VoiSona Talk website.[7][8][9] On August 31, her first demonstration sample was released and the official release date was announced to be the following day on September 1 to coincide with VoiSona's first anniversary. The VoiSona Talk interface was shown and examples of the engine's various parameters such as variations of the Accent "ACC" parameter and her five Style "STY" presets, "Normal", "Happy", "Bashful", "Angry", and "Sad" were shown. Sato Sasara, Suzuki Tsudumi and Takahashi Amato's VoiSona Talk libraries were also shown.[10][11]
Tanaka San was released on September 1 as intended as a free-to-download trial vocal included within the VoiSona Talk engine. She was released with one Talk Voice library (version 2.0.0), and could be downloaded from the official Techno-Speech, Inc. VoiSona Talk website.[12][13][14] A commemorative interview was hosted by Sato Sasara, Suzuki Tsudumi, Takahashi Amato and Tanaka San, who were asked to share their thoughts about each other.[15][16] Tanaka San also received additional image materials of both designs for use in creations.[17][18]
