History[]
2020[]
On December 25, 2020, AH-Software Co. Ltd.'s YouTube channel published a video announcing that Tsurumaki Maki would be receiving CeVIO AI Talk voices and Synthesizer V AI voice databases. She would have both Japanese and English voices for each of both synth engines.[2] It was also announced that Manami Tanaka was the voice provider instead of Tomoe Tamiyasu, Maki's voice actress for her VOICEROID voicebanks. This was due to a communication error between AH-Software and Tomoe Tamiyasu's management company. The original voice actress was allegedly not notified of the change in providers during the production of the new banks.[3] AH-Software later released a letter during a press release regarding the situation and asked for support of the new voice provider.[4]
Samples of Maki's speech capabilities were shown during the 167th AHS Official Live Broadcast. She was shown to have three expressions in Japanese and in English.[5]
2021[]
On March 30, 2021, reference sheets for Maki were revealed.[6]
On May 12, Maki's CeVIO AI and Synthesizer V Studio libraries were released for pre-order. Both software were slated for release on June 18. Maki would be available as a Talk Voice, Talk Voice Set and Talk Voice Starter Pack options in both Japanese and English respectively. A combo package with both Japanese and English Talk Voice libraries were also confirmed to be released. More than 1000 audio files, and MikuMikuDance models would be included in the packages.[7] Maki released on June 18 as intended.
2023: English 1.1.0 update[]
On September 8, 2023, Maki's English Talk Voice was updated to version 1.1.0, which was noted to sound more attractive.[8]
2024: 2.0 vocoder update[]
On March 22, 2024, AH-Software Co. Ltd. announced that all of its Japanese CeVIO AI Talk voicebanks, including Tsurumaki Maki, would be updated to the 2.0 vocoder first introduced on VoiSona Talk. Maki's Japanese Talk Voice was scheduled to receive the vocoder update in June according to the press release; her English Talk Voice was not yet scheduled to receive any vocoder update.[9][10]
On May 21, a formal release date was given for the 2.0 vocoder updates for both of Maki's Talk Voices (Japanese and English) as well as their VoiSona Talk counterparts: June 20.[11]
