XING Co., Ltd. (株式会社エクシング) is a company based in Tokyo that specializes in karaoke.

History[]

In 2015, from July 1st to August 31st, JOYSOUND (A service of XING Inc.,) ran a campaign for songs submitted to the Utasuki karaoke banks, with a prize of ¥100,000 worth of Karaoke tickets for use in JOYSOUND retail stores in a monthly lottery. At the same time, a campaign was run for original songs submitted using CeVIO vocals, in which the first 100 entrants were to receive a カラーボイスシリーズ (Color Voice Series) vocal free of charge.[1]

Color Voice Series[]

The six characters of the Color Voice Series were introduced on February 18, 2015.[2] Each month, a pair of vocals were released: Akasaki Minato and Midorizaki Kasumi in February, Ginsaki Yamato and Kinzaki Koharu in March, and Shirosaki Yuudai and Kizaki Airi in April. There was little information about each character's background, but the three groups of pairs were created for specific genres and were meant to compliment each other: Minato and Airi for harder genres like rock and pop, Kasumi and Yuudai for softer genres like ballads and jazz, and Yamato and Koharu for more traditional genres like folk and enka.

Each of the characters were named and themed after a color. Their surnames consisted of their specific color combined with the word for "bloom", which was either pronounced "-saki" or "-zaki".

On October 15, 2021, the CeVIO Project staff and JOYSOUND announced the discontinuation of the Color Voice Series vocals as of January 14, 2022. It was noted on the official CeVIO website that users may still be able to use their purchased copies of the Color Voice Series, however, the software may be unsupported due to operating system version upgrades.[3][4]
