On August 14, a Twitter account under the name of Sephirese Limited was opened with an announcement posted in Chinese, Japanese and English about the development of a commercial voicebank titled "Yurin", who was shown only as a silhouette. A sample of her voice could be heard singing a rendition of the Chinese folk song 茉莉花 (Mòlìhuā). At the time the engine was not specified, though would be demonstrated at the Chengdu Pan VOCALOID Doujin Exhibition two days later.[1] Other than the few tweets and a YouTube video with the same demo that was uploaded on the company's official channel, there were no other announcements at the time.
On October 6, Yurin was officially released on the VoiSona website where she received a short character biography, additional details and it was confirmed that her voice was provided by the bilingual Japanese and Chinese streamer Youlin, also known as Yurin. [2][3][4] She later received a new key visual in addition to her previously shown standing artwork.
